IT Infrastructure & Cyber Security Engineer
to keep our systems secure, resilient and efficient, supporting critical operations at our Ardeer site. Reporting to the IT Manager, you'll provide advanced 2nd/3rd line technical and cyber security support, maintain and develop our IT infrastructure and cloud services, and mentor colleagues on new technologies. Key Responsibilities:
Health, Safety & Compliance
Work in full compliance with H&SE legislation and company policies
Proactively report unsafe acts and conditions using the Near Miss system
Support the maintenance of CE+ certification across the site
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
Develop and keep policies, processes, and procedures up to date
Create and update troubleshooting guides and knowledge base articles to support the wider team
Mentor and guide colleagues on new technologies and best practices
Technical Support & Infrastructure
Handle complex technical issues (2nd and 3rd line) and support 1st line tickets during peak times
Build, deploy, and manage PCs, peripherals, and conference room hardware
Administer desk phones, voicemail, and maintain phone lists
Maintain asset registers and track installed software
Support user inductions and help desk operations to meet CEUK SLAs
Systems & Cyber Security
Monitor and manage cyber security systems
Administer Microsoft 365 Admin Centres
Develop Power Apps to improve reporting
Manage VMware servers and physical network infrastructure, including Fibre and Cat5-e
Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery plans, and process restore requests
Manage user accounts, permissions, shares, and drive mappings following best practices
Process leaver data back-up, email archiving, and hardware clearance
Collaboration & Projects
Work closely with Group IT and sister sites to deliver shared projects
Support the long-term IT strategy for the site
Ensure tasks and objectives are delivered on time and to a high standard
Participate in team activities to keep operations running smoothly
Qualifications & Experience:
Solid background in IT infrastructure, cloud services and cyber security - either through relevant qualifications or extensive hands-on experience
Proven track record in delivering effective 2nd and 3rd line support
Strong technical expertise across IT security, Microsoft 365, VMware, Power Apps, SharePoint, and network infrastructure
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to keep systems running smoothly
Confident communicator with a talent for mentoring and knowledge sharing
A collaborative team player who thrives in dynamic environments
Self-motivated, proactive, and always looking for smarter ways to work
Detail-focused and driven by quality and accuracy
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
