We have an exciting opportunity within our Lifecycle Portfolio team as an IT Lifecycle Planning Manager.




Reporting into the Senior IT Portfolio Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in managing the lifecycle of several hundred technology products, both applications and infrastructure. You'll be part of the Lifecycle Portfolio Team, responsible for ensuring each technology product has a well-defined roadmap, aligning the efforts of IT application owners, enterprise architects and project managers. With our ambitious plan to decommission over 100 applications in the next three years, this initiative aims to simplify our technology landscape, reduce costs and enhance the overall customer experience.





You'll track, guide and support projects to ensure that we realize the benefits of decommissioning legacy technologies. Whilst this role owns the decommissioning process, it does not encompass direct project delivery, this position is ideal for individuals with a background in architecture, IT service management or IT project management.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you'll be doing:



Engaging with Enterprise Architecture, IT Application Owners, Product Managers and Project Managers to build and maintain comprehensive multi-year roadmaps, including all decoms, ensuring alignment with business objectives Maintaining visibility across the portfolio of all in-year projects that will result in decommission of technology, tracking key milestones, RAG, funding positions, and delivery confidence levels Owning the decommissioning framework, processes, and controls, providing guidance to projects through a structured end-to-end technology decommissioning process, acting as a trusted advisor on internal processes, including data protection standards and change management Assessing risk and agreeing resulting technical debt response and decom plans Proactively seek opportunities to expedite the decommissioning of technologies Ensuring the IT platform and any changes are compliant with business, regulatory and group policy requirements Creating and presenting MI for business stakeholders to monitor progress towards simplification and decommissioning targets

What you'll bring:



Strong understanding of technology architectures, application dependencies, and integration points is essential e.g. architecture, IT service management (ITIL, ITSM, ITAM), or IT project management Knowledge of risk management and risk mitigation in a technology setting Competence in project management methodologies and frameworks Ability to represent at senior stakeholder forums, effectively communicating the status and importance of decommissioning activities Proven ability maintaining a network of stakeholders across various disciplines Focus on continuous improvement within the decommissioning process, leveraging lessons learned to refine methodologies and enhance efficiency
