We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Network Administrator to oversee and maintain our organisation's IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing network systems, ensuring security, and supporting system operations across various platforms. Aims of the post:
To support the IT Services Coordinator in the smooth operation of ELATT's IT resources and equipment
Examine existing IT systems at ELATT
Analyse systems requirements
Implement, configure, and test feasible solutions
Ongoing reliability of ELATT ICT services
Provision of appropriate technical support
Cost effective and prompt implementation of ELATT's ICT strategy
Key Responsibilities
Network and Server Management:
Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot our Windows Server environment (2016, 2019, 2022).
Manage and maintain Active Directory, including user/group policies, DNS, and DHCP.
Ensure the stability, security, and performance of the local area network (LAN) and wireless network (Wi-Fi).
Perform regular system monitoring, patch management, and proactive maintenance.
Provide comprehensive administration of our Microsoft 365 tenant, including user accounts, licensing, and security policies.
Manage Exchange Online for email routing, distribution groups, and mail flow.
Support and configure end-user workstations, including Windows 11 PCs and iMacs.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot a range of educational and administrative software.
Implement and uphold robust IT security measures in line with charity and educational safeguarding standards.
Manage antivirus/anti-malware solutions and ensure systems are protected against threats.
Maintain accurate technical documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
Assist with data protection (GDPR) compliance from an IT perspective.

Responsibilities of the Post:
Consult with managers to determine the role of ELATT's IT system
Research emerging technologies to decide if installing them can increase ELATT's efficiency and effectiveness
Prepare an analysis of costs and benefits so that management can decide if information systems and computing infrastructure upgrades are financially worthwhile
Devise ways to add new functionality to existing computer systems
Design and develop new systems by choosing and configuring hardware and software
Oversee the installation and configuration of new systems to customize them
Conduct testing to ensure that the systems work as expected
liaise with staff and learners to accurately diagnose problems
Walk through with staff and learners the recommended problem-solving steps
Set up or repair computer equipment and related devices
Train users to work with new computer hardware or software, such as printers, word-processing software, and email
Provide others at ELATT with information about what gives users the most trouble and about other concerns users may have
To carry out other such duties that may be reasonably required
Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
Computer Science degree and/or equivalent qualification/knowledge gained through experience.
GCSE (or equivalent) English and math's.
Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar systems administration role.
Skills and Abilities
Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
Active Directory Domain Services and Group Policy.
Microsoft 365 Administration (User Management, SharePoint, Teams).
Exchange Online or on-premises Exchange administration.
Working knowledge of SQL queries
