Key Responsibilities

Design and implement computer network systems based on organizational requirements. Install and configure network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points. Monitor network performance and ensure optimal uptime and reliability. Troubleshoot network issues and resolve connectivity problems for users. Maintain network security by implementing firewalls, VPNs, and access controls. Perform regular system and network upgrades, including patches and updates. Support end-users with network-related issues and provide technical assistance. Maintain documentation of network configurations, procedures, and system logs. Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to plan and execute network projects. Ensure data backup and disaster recovery processes are in place for network infrastructure.

Qualifications

Must-Have

3-5+ years in network engineering/administration or similar role. Solid experience with enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, VLANs, STP, routing protocols). Hands-on with major firewall platforms (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto) and VPNs. Proficiency with wireless (WAPs, controllers) and network monitoring tools. Strong troubleshooting skills across Layers 1-7; solid TCP/IP fundamentals. Experience hardening networks with ACLs, IDS/IPS, MFA, and least-privilege principles. Clear documentation habits and customer-focused communication.

Nice-to-Have

Scripting/automation familiarity (PowerShell/Python) and infrastructure as code concepts. Cloud networking exposure (AWS/Azure/GCP VPCs, VPNs, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute). VoIP/QoS and SD-WAN experience.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, Network+, NSE, PCNSE) are a plus.
