Joining the AA family as our IT Operational Resilience Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Group IT wide business leaders to shape and evolve our current IT Disaster Recovery capability into true IT Service Continuity that is necessary to support the Operational Resilience programme, ensuring that we meet our commitments to customers, staff, and stakeholders.

What will I be doing?

  • Ensure that the programme is optimised to meet AA plc objectives and goals, and meets industry wide best practice and supports accreditation of Industry Standards
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all IT Disaster Recovery and Service Continuity matters, across the AA and for third parties (customers & suppliers)
  • Collaborate with various business areas/leaders to:
  • Ensure services are \xe2\x80\x9cResilient by Design\xe2\x80\x9d for Project Management and are built into all new IT related projects
  • Closely work with Major Incident & Problem Management teams to ensure they have everything needed from the ITSCM strategy enabling suitable recovery timeframe and have the appropriate system documentation to support the recovery of any system, or application
  • Work with our procurement team and the procurement process for suppliers / 3rd parties, to ensure that they provide the appropriate support requirements for the business service(s) that they support
  • Utilise the output from the BIA (Business Impact Analysis) process to ensure that the ITSCM strategy interlocks with the Technical Resilience policy & strategy
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and testing of IT Disaster Recovery / Service Continuity Strategies, relating to the management of service recovery for planned and / or unplanned events
  • Maintain and protect the ITSCM capability, whilst ensuring that the business can respond to a major incident, and that service recovery plans and standby facilities, including services that are contracted with third parties, meet the needs of business operations
  • Work with different IT services and conduct Risk Assessment and Business Impact Analysis (BIA), whilst supporting and developing technical resilience capabilities
What do I need?
  • Strong IT Service Continuity and IT Disaster Recovery (DR) experience with a strong understanding within Major Incident/Problem Management
  • Proven experience of understanding the relationship between critical IT systems and business processes and key customer
  • Have a good understanding of ITSCM objectives are balanced, appropriate and in line with industry best practice
  • Experience of, and ability to effectively engage with IT teams to assess IT systems resilience / Disaster Recovery in multiple Data Centre & Cloud configurations/operations including ITIL requirements
  • Possess consultative approach and where necessary hands-on support, for the development of appropriate recovery documentation, including test planning/reporting/recording outcomes as well as IT standards, strategies, and frameworks
  • Knowledge of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) / Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) regulatory requirements for Operational Resilience
