, you'll support the Shift Leader in ensuring the smooth running of the Bridge, closely monitoring our important systems and quickly reacting to any issues in addition to enforcing security controls, cross-training the team in security best practices and methodologies and performing initial security-related investigations and response. This is a deeply technical, hands-on role.
The IT Operations Centre serves the following functions:
24/7 monitoring of systems.
Take servers in/out of operation.
Act as first point of contact and escalate to SME teams if needed.
Supplement applications support team during downtime.
Security incident response and triage.

What you'll be doing:
Maintaining a vigilant watch on
Jet2.com
and
Jet2holidays
' key IT platforms with a view to preventing/minimising disruptions to service.
Responding to events and incidents promptly to prevent issues with service.
Escalating issues to the Shift Leader if required.
Reporting of operational performance to management.
Helping to define improvements to operational processes.
Effective communication with subject matter experts and management during major incidents.
Mentoring junior members of the team.
Ensure authorised systems access, reporting violations, monitoring information requests for new systems and recommending process improvements.
Investigate security and data incidents in accordance with our protocols, collaborating with response teams in IT and Legal & Compliance.
What you'll have:
Previous experience of working in a 24/7 operations or support environment.
Strong Operating System knowledge across Windows and Linux (Red Hat) platforms.
Strong SQL skills.
Appreciation of corporate networking platforms - BigIP F5s
Experience of using monitoring platforms across applications and underlying infrastructure.
Knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
+ AppDynamics / New Relic / Dynatrace
+ Microsoft SCOM
+ Elastic
+ Solarwinds
+ PagerDuty
+ Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) "Process first" mindset - we are looking for someone that looks at processes critically and suggests improvements.
Strong coaching mentality, looking to develop less-experienced team members.
ITIL certified.
Have a good understanding of the GDPR and PCI-DSS standards.
Have a good understanding of the core principles of network tools, architecture, Mobile Device Management, encryption, vulnerability scanning.
Customer-centric mindset. Always prioritising issues that have a customer or commercial impact.
