Come and join our IT team, we are recruiting for an IT Project Manager on a 2-year fixed term contract.


The Project Manager will be required to deliver a roster, planning and timetable tool, Hastus, that will allow KAM to plan, operate and run a cost-effective, and reliable service for our passengers.


The experienced IT Project Manager will successfully implement and launch the tool, gather stakeholder requirements within KAM and Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), liaise with Giro (software provider) and ensure Hastus is delivered to support the Operational planning team in their day-to-day workstreams.

Key accountabilities will include:



Lead the end-to-end project management of Hastus, from inception to delivery. Define project scope, objectives, deliverables and timeline schedule of works. Oversee day to day project activities and track key milestones and adjust plans as required to deliver as per the project schedule. Identify and collaborate with key stakeholders for the project, developing ways of working for the project to be a success. Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver project outcomes including drivers, planning, operational, IT, HR, TfGM and the software providers Hold regular review meetings with relevant stakeholders and provide updates to the client. Provide regular progress reports and project updates. Analyse current processes, liaise with stakeholders and ensure new processes are produced to reflect the changes, adhering to KAM processes and procedures. Identify, monitor and manage project risks and concerns for escalation throughout the project life cycle. Responsible for forecasting, budget management and reporting of project finances including contractual compliance. Ensure compliance with KAM Project Management System (PMS), industry standards and regulatory requirements. Facilitate user training, testing, entry into operation and support during the implementation phase. Conduct post-implementation evaluation and lessons learnt to identify areas for improvement. Foster a culture of continuous improvement post implementation. Assist in the development of team members

What you'll bring:



Hold an Information Technology (IT) qualification, ideally at degree level - Computer Science, or a related field. AGILE practitioner Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills Strong time management, planning and organisational skills Lead, Engage and motivate cross functional teams Manage multiple tasks and to set deadlines Strong communication skills Strong influence, presentation and interpersonal skills (including conflict management, mentoring and coaching capabilities). A highly effective Project Manager, evident through the delivery of large-scale change projects, (preferably within the transport sector). Experience with planning tools (within the transport industry would be preferable). Strong understanding of project management methodologies. Experience of managing budgets and financial forecasting of projects Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
