We are a growing technology-led company delivering complex IT, SaaS, and digital transformation projects for clients across multiple sectors. Our work involves long-running, customer-facing IT initiatives, often delivered through distributed and remote technical teams. As part of our continued growth, we are looking to appoint a capable and highly organised IT Project Manager to join our team.

This role is ideal for an early-to-mid-level IT Project Manager who is looking to take ownership of multiple projects, build strong client relationships, and grow into a senior delivery role over time.

Role Overview



The IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering IT projects from initiation through to closure. You will act as the primary point of contact for customers, manage internal and remote delivery teams, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within agreed budgets.

You will be expected to proactively manage risks, dependencies, and changes, and to communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders when projects face challenges around timelines, cost, or scope.

Key Responsibilities



Project Delivery & Governance



Manage end-to-end delivery of IT and software projects, some of which may run for 6-12+ months Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria Create and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures Track progress against milestones, timelines, budgets, and resource plans Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed scope, quality standards, and contractual commitments

Client & Stakeholder Management



Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle Build strong, trusted relationships with client stakeholders Provide regular project updates, status reports, and steering communications Proactively communicate risks, delays, budget pressures, or scope changes Manage client expectations and support change control discussions where required

Budget & Risk Management



Monitor project budgets and forecast costs Identify risks, issues, and dependencies early and put mitigation plans in place Escalate issues appropriately with clear options and recommendations Ensure change requests are assessed for impact on scope, time, and cost

Team & Resource Management



Coordinate and manage internal and remote technical teams (developers, designers, QA, etc.) Allocate tasks, track workload, and ensure accountability across delivery teams Facilitate project meetings, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives Support collaboration across geographically distributed teams

Tools, Processes & Reporting



Use IT project management tools effectively (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Trello, Asana, MS Project, ClickUp or similar) Maintain accurate project documentation and delivery artefacts Support continuous improvement of delivery processes and project governance

Required Skills & ExperienceEssential



3-5 years' experience working as an IT Project Manager or Project Coordinator in a technology or software environment Proven experience managing IT or digital projects end-to-end Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Demonstrated customer and stakeholder management experience Experience working with and managing remote or distributed teams Hands-on experience using IT project management tools Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to manage pressure, prioritise effectively, and handle changing requirements

Desirable



Experience delivering SaaS, web, mobile, or cloud-based solutions Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery methodologies Basic understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) Relevant certifications (PRINCE2 Foundation, AgilePM, Scrum Master) - not essential

Location & Working Arrangement



Leicester or surrounding areas preferred Hybrid working model with availability for in-person meetings when required

Salary & Benefits
