Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their IT career.

Reporting to the Field Service Manager, you'll be out and about, visiting different client sites, providing on-site IT support as well as conducting installations and maintenance work.

The ideal candidate is driven, solution focussed and has strong communication skills - both for liaising with colleagues internally but also when communicating to clients of varied IT literacy.

Previous field experience is not required; this role could be the ideal move for someone currently in a desk-based IT support role who is looking for a more varied, hands-on position.

Roles & Responsibilities



Travel to client sites across Cornwall to provide IT support and troubleshooting. Install and configure IT hardware and software (servers, PCs, printers, networking devices). Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Windows environments. Carry out basic networking troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs). Keep accurate records of all work and customer interactions. Collaborate with the Plymouth-based Support Desk team on escalated issues. Deliver friendly, professional customer service, offering guidance and reassurance when needed. Undertake training and to assist in training other or new members of staff as required. Undertake other duties as may be required within the general scope of the job. Work in accordance with all company procedures and guidelines.

Required Experience



A formal background in IT support (desk-based or field). Working knowledge of Microsoft environments. Networking experience is beneficial (though training will be provided).

A driving licence and willingness to travel. Exceptional communication and inter-personal skills. Organised, proactive and with exceptional attention to detail. Customer-focused approach to working. Flexible, adaptable and eager to take on a varied workload.
