to lead the operations of our busy home-user-focused IT repair shop. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in IT, a passion for helping customers, and a strong background in retail or sales management. This role requires a hands-on approach and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our loyal, local client base.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day running of the IT repair shop, ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service.
Provide basic technical support and advice to customers both in-person and over the phone.
Perform or assist with basic IT diagnostics and repairs, or effectively triage jobs for technician follow-up.
Maintain stock levels, manage suppliers, and ensure the shop environment is clean, organised, and welcoming.
Monitor and analyse sales data to optimise product offering, drive footfall, and improve conversion rates.
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, fostering trust and ensuring repeat business.
Handle customer enquiries and complaints with empathy and professionalism.
Promote the business on social media platforms through regular posts, promotions, and engagement with the local community.
Work collaboratively with a small team and operate independently when required.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Basic IT Knowledge
, including:
Familiarity with internal computer components (motherboards, RAM, CPU).
Understanding of common software (email clients, web browsers, antivirus).
Working knowledge of both Windows and macOS platforms (hardware and software).
Basic understanding of mobile devices (smartphones and tablets).
Ability to offer common troubleshooting advice to customers.
Retail/Shop Management Experience:
Previous experience in a customer-facing retail or sales environment is highly desirable.
Understanding of shop management including stock control, pricing, and daily operations.
Ability to interpret and utilise sales data to improve business performance.
Customer Service Excellence:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly and confident approach.
Good telephone manner and the ability to handle customer concerns with tact and clarity.
Experience working with repeat customers and building long-term relationships.
Marketing & Social Media:
Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
Ability to create engaging content and monitor user engagement.
Understanding of how to use social media to enhance brand presence and drive foot traffic.
Teamwork & Independence:
Comfortable working in a small team and capable of taking initiative.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage responsibilities without constant supervision.
Desirable Attributes:
Experience in a small business or community-focused environment.
A creative eye for merchandising or digital promotion.
Basic graphic design or photo editing skills (for social media posts).
Flexible and adaptable, with a "can-do" attitude.
Hours of work
The shop opening hours are 9:00am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday. The successful candidate would be expected to work every other Saturday however can do more if desired. This will either be paid in addition to standard salary or as time off in lieu.

Holiday
