The IT Support Engineer is responsible for supporting customer and internal IT systems and providing technical support for customers.
Responsibilities:
Being the first point of contact for customers, providing
technical support in person, over the telephone and via
remote support software in relation to desktop and software
issues.
Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware,
software, and other system problems.
Creating and maintaining documentation related to IT
systems, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as software
updates, system upgrades, and hardware repairs.
Basic network troubleshooting.
Installation of software in a Microsoft environment.
Ensure Service Desk tickets are dealt with in line with the
relevant SLAs and KPIs.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and
meet deadlines.
Ensure security "Best Practise" is adhered to.
Work towards being part of the on-call support phone rota

Skills & Experience
Essential:
Experience of working for an IT Managed Service Provider.
Excellent communication skills via face to face, telephone and email.
Suitable experience in an IT Service Desk environment.
Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products.
Good all-round troubleshooting, fault finding and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
An understanding of commercial awareness.
Experience within an IT Support role.
Experience in supporting Office 365 applications.
Dependable and flexible when necessary.
An understanding of Microsoft Desktop technologies.
Knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP and DNS.
Installing software on the Microsoft platform.
Be willing to be put through SC clearance.
CompTIA certification or willing to work towards certification
Desirable:
Understanding of Microsoft Server technologies.
Experience of Backup solutions.
Experience of virtualisation (virtual servers/desktops etc.).
Knowledge of LAN and wireless networks.
