Job Description

Hours:

Rotating shifts triweekly, Monday to Friday 07:00-16:00, 08:00-17:00 and 09:00-18:00.



Occasional Saturdays on rota and, when required, working out of hours during major upgrade or project-based work.



The role will cover all aspects of IT, ranging from 1st Line up to 3rd Line and involves a mixture of hardware and software requirements. Some of the main responsibilities include providing 1st - 3rd line support to end users on-site, remotely and by telephone; providing both hardware and software support; troubleshooting desktop, server and network issues; and carrying out occasional project work like upgrades or migrations.



Main Responsibilities:



? Providing support (via telephone, remote support and site visits), troubleshooting technical issues and escalating when necessary.

? Excellent troubleshooting skills in all areas of desktop-related issues, most areas of server-related issues and most areas of network-related issues.

? Create and maintain documentation of common fixes and installation procedures.

? There will be some occasional small-scale project work involved, where the successful candidate should be able to work alone and unsupervised, where required.



Essential Skills/Experience:



? Working experience providing IT support, in a busy environment, to end users in MS Windows, MS Office and general desktop software and hardware

? Working experience in Windows System Administration, particularly with Windows Server 2022, Windows 10 / 11

? Working experience in networking hardware administration, particularly with Cisco / Meraki and HP / Aruba

? Working experience with VoIP telephony systems, particularly with Mitel

? Working experience in hardware maintenance and servicing, particularly with Dell (Servers/Desktops) and HP / Lexmark (Printers)

? Excellent written and verbal communication skills

? Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible in approach to the role

? Current UK Driver's Licence



Advantageous Skills/Experience:



? Knowledge of current Cyber Security recommendations and practices

? Microsoft qualification(s) in Windows Desktop or Server administration

? Knowledge of Unix/Linux

? Knowledge of PHP/MySQL

? Knowledge of SD WAN

? Knowledge of VMWare ESXi/vCenter
