The Support Engineer - IT is responsible for providing technical support to employees, maintaining IT systems, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
Install, configure, and maintain software, hardware, and network equipment.
Troubleshoot system issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
Monitor and maintain network performance and security.
Set up new user accounts, permissions, and access control.
Maintain documentation for IT processes, assets, and troubleshooting guides.
Support cloud services, email systems, and internal applications.
Coordinate with vendors for repairs, maintenance, and IT purchases.
Ensure data backup and recovery systems are running properly.
Perform routine system checks and updates.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, and basic networking.
Experience with hardware troubleshooting and system maintenance.
Understanding of LAN/WAN, routers, switches, and firewalls.
Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good communication and customer-support skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
1-3 years of experience in IT support or technical helpdesk roles.
Relevant certifications (preferred): CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, Microsoft certifications.
