JOB LOCATION: The main headquarters located in Galgorm, however as and when needed you will be required to travel and work from all Collection Sites, including Galgorm, The Rabbit Hotel & Retreat (Templepatrick), The Old Inn (Crawfordsburn), Fratelli Belfast (Belfast), Parisien Belfast (Belfast).

About the role:

To monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks for Galgorm Collection. Install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and application problems, either over the phone or in person.

As an IT Support Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and resolving IT-related issues for both internal staff and guests. Your role will contribute to maintaining a smooth technology operation within the hotel, ensuring optimal guest experiences.

The Position:

The main responsibilities include but are not limited to;
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications.
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks activity to proactively identify and address potential problems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT problems including, connectivity, software and hardware issues.
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
  • Create and update documentation for network documentation, IT procedures, troubleshooting steps, and standard operating procedures
  • Supporting the roll-out of new hardware and software projects.
  • Visiting all Collection sites as required for support and maintenance
  • User access management
  • Prioritising and managing many open cases at one time.
  • Establishing a good working relationship with the Galgorm Collection staff and 3rd party vendors.
  • Assisting with Information Technology (IT) project planning, including identifying and developing goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identifications of risks, contingency plans, allocation of available resources, and deliverables to meet business needs.
  • Thoroughly understanding of hospitality-centric systems; including but not limited to EPoS, door locking , reservations, telephony to guest room entertainment etc.
  • Assisting with evaluating user needs and system functionality and ensuring that ICT facilities meet these needs.
  • Scheduling upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest technologies.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for more complex IT tasks, ensuring effective communication and timely issue resolution.
  • Providing high-resolution troubleshooting if needed.
  • Having a flexible working pattern as early morning, evening or weekend hours may be required to facilitate business continuity.

  • Outstanding ability to organize and prioritize technical service requests.
  • Outstanding ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Ability to manage 3rd party vendors.
  • Flexibility and agility are essential to this position.
Essential Criteria:
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Server technologies both on-premises and cloud-based.
  • Experience administering and managing Office 365 platform.
  • Experience working with LAN and WAN at multi-site locations.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, security measures and firewall configurations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff and guests.
  • Knowledge of all Windows platforms and general office automation and productivity software.
  • As with all positions in our business, customer service proficiency is required. Must be highly capable of working with end-users and executives.
Desirable Criteria:
  • At least 1 year of experience in providing implementation, and support of information systems in the hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of various hospitality-specific applications.
