Job Description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and resourceful IT Support Technician to manage and support all aspects of our organisation's IT infrastructure. This includes servers, workstations, mobile devices, software platforms, network equipment, and cloud systems across multiple care homes and head office locations. The role will replace our current external IT support company and is essential for maintaining security, improving efficiency, and supporting frontline operations.

Key Responsibilities Technical Support & Infrastructure Management

Provide first and second-line IT support to all staff (onsite and remote). Maintain and monitor servers (physical and virtual) and workstation performance. Manage network and peripheral devices (routers, switches, printers, access points). Resolve issues related to Microsoft 365 applications, Teams, VPNs, and mobile connectivity. Oversee VPN and remote access configuration and troubleshooting. Maintain inventory of IT assets, devices, and software licences.
Cloud & Software Services

Administer Microsoft 365 suite (Business Premium, Defender, Teams Premium, Exchange, Power Automate, Visio, Entra ID, Azure AD). Support use and deployment of cloud backup services, such as SaaS Mailbox Backup. Manage and maintain SharePoint, OneDrive, and intranet configurations. Monitor endpoint security using Webroot and ransomware protection. Administer Knox mobile device management across work phones and tablets.
Devices & Peripheral Support

Set up and maintain staff computers, laptops, phones, and tablets. Troubleshoot printer, display, Wi-Fi, and audio/visual connectivity issues. Install software (e.g., Custodio, SmartLobby, Exclaimer, antivirus). Perform device resets, kiosk configurations, and remote support sessions.
Project Implementation

Support office moves and hardware installations. Lead on onboarding new tech systems and deploying company-wide software. Collaborate on system upgrades and improvements (e.g., Meta Compliance rollout, AI integration).
Compliance & Security

Monitor and enforce cybersecurity measures and access control protocols. Ensure MFA, device encryption, and secure login procedures (BitLocker, SSO). Support GDPR compliance by maintaining secure user access and data handling procedures.
Essential Experience & Skills

3+ years in IT support, network management, or systems administration. Proficient in managing Microsoft 365 ecosystem (including Power Automate, Azure AD, Entra ID). Experience with endpoint security, VPN setup, device management (Knox/MDM). Skilled in resolving issues on Windows laptops, mobile devices, broadband/Wi-Fi networks. Familiarity with cloud DNS filtering, ransomware protection, and SAAS backups. Driving licence and own vehicle is required as the role involves being on-site across care homes and head office as required.
Desirable (Roadmap) Skills

Microsoft Azure management and optimisation. PowerShell scripting and automation. SharePoint API / Deskpro API integration. AI transcription/CoPilot deployment. System-wide reporting and analytics. Experience with MetaCompliance or similar policy management tools. Web development or system enhancement experience (intranet or internal portals).

Location

Hybrid - On-site across care homes and head office as required (driving licence and own vehicle required).
