Vision Express is looking for a skilled and proactive IT Systems Engineer to take the lead on key technical projects across the business. In this hybrid role based in Nottingham, you'll work closely with stakeholders to manage and deliver impactful IT initiatives, ensuring seamless collaboration and successful project outcomes.

Who Is the Perfect Candidate?
The ideal candidate will be a skilled IT professional seeking a dynamic, fast-paced role within an organisation that offer opportunities for career advancement, they will need to have strong experience across both Linux/Unix (RedHat, SUSE, Oracle) and Windows Server environments. They'll be confident in:
Server installation, configuration, and administration
Scripting (PowerShell, Bash), CRON jobs, and automation
System patching, updates, and software deployment
Storage management (NetApp), snapshots, replication, and recovery
Communicating with stakeholders of all levels across the business.
Networking fundamentals including OSI model, IPv4, routing, VPN, and firewall administration
Managing server room facilities and supporting datacentre migrations
Ensuring security and compliance across systems and user accounts
Understanding enterprise infrastructure services and core protocols
Key Responsibilities
Provide 2nd and 3rd Line IT support, ensuring timely resolution and escalation of incidents.
Support and maintain physical and virtual infrastructure, including servers, operating systems, networking, cloud platforms, and security systems.
Respond to system alerts and manage support tickets in accordance with SLAs and KPIs.
Act as an escalation point for technical issues from support teams and liaise with third-party vendors as needed.
Perform daily operational tasks such as system monitoring, backups, and endpoint security management.
Participate in out-of-hours maintenance and project work to minimize business disruption.
Maintain accurate documentation and follow change management procedures.
