The primary purpose of this role, which sits within the Database Development Team but will work across the IT function, is to provide analysis and application support expertise for in-house systems. The role requires the individual to combine knowledge of data flow and processes with an understanding of insurance processes and calculations, to translate requirements from business stakeholders into a specification for developers.
The application support part of the role focusses on month end activities, small change development and the resolution of issues related to overnight processing.
A mix of Insurance, Finance, Analysis and Development skills is desirable for this role.###
Essential Skills & Requirements
A good understanding of specialty insurance and reinsurance concepts within the London and Lloyds markets
A good understanding of Lloyds processes and data, including messaging
Proven track record of supporting complex, integrated systems involving financial transactions and calculations
Ability to write/interpret technical documents
Ability to work well within and across teams, learning new in-house systems architecture and processes (inc. code-level understanding)
Prepared to work flexibly to meet business needs including working extended hours and weekends where required to meet business objectives
Microsoft SQL Server database TSQL query writing, understanding and some development experience
Lloyds regulatory reporting
Verisk / Sequel Business Systems Eclipse - business usage concepts, database schema, processing
Service Now
Azure DevOps
TFS/GitHub
Data migration experience
