Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled IT Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive IT support to our staff, ensuring that all systems are functioning efficiently. This role requires a strong customer service orientation and the ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues effectively. The IT Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining our network infrastructure, including VPNs and firewalls, while also assisting with systems and network configurations.

Working Hours: 40 Hours (5 Day Week) Office Based

Overview:



Based in our Basingstoke office and warehouse supporting and developing IT systems and processes as well as supporting system users and the development team.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities:

General

Take overall responsibility for day to day user support and IT issues resolution. Take direction from the IT Manager for the vision and approach for the IT system at TSL. Work efficiently with a ticketing system that users report issues and report on IT issues affecting the company. Ensure the company and operation remains working, ensuring resilience. Ensure GDPR compliance across systems and devices. Assist with cyber security compliance and policy improvement. Take ownership of users hardware requirements and maintenance, including laptops, printers, phones & screens. Actively look for opportunities to improve the company's processes by using IT to assist and automate tasks. Ensure uptime for RFID and barcode scanning technology and help improve efficiency where possible. Analytical skills to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation using IT. Report on issues affecting users and the resilience of the company in regular meetings.
Training and Development

Providing helpful information and basic training to users. Communicating useful updates and changes. Engage and take part in any training provided by TSL
General Technology being used in the company by all departments

Have an overview of technology being used in all departments. Provide support and input for ongoing support and development. Provide support and input during any procurement process.
Development Projects

Assist when required with the companies development projects including Azure, edge web app, local web app toolbox and all other systems. Liaise with users and management on reported bugs and issues. Suggest improvements that would help operational or customer focused interactions.
Strategy

Assist with RFID project to see it to completion. Maintain continuous improvement projects across all systems.
Skills & Qualities Required:

Proficiency in IT systems, including hardware, software, servers, and devices. Experience with Google Workplace and 3CX IP telephony systems. Experience with MicrosoftWindows operating systems. Familiarity with HireTrack & QC Check (Or similar systems) would be an advantage. Experience with complex databases. Possesses knowledge of Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) systems. Understanding of hardware specification, installation, and maintenance. Previous experience with demonstrated success in developing IT systems and projects. Analytical skills to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation using IT. Strong problem solving skills, balancing hands on technical work with administration responsibilities.

This role involves dealing with employees and customers of the company. It is vital that you deal courteously with customers and the public at all times and represent the company and its reputation in an impeccable manner. Maintain a good level of personal appearance, dress and cleanliness. A generally cheerful demeanour, engaging personality and sense of humour would be a huge advantage in making a success of this role.
