As an IT Technician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, customer-focused ICT services across the organisation. You will support the day-to-day operation of IT systems, contribute to digital transformation initiatives, and ensure the smooth running of infrastructure, applications, and user support services.

As part of a team that supports over 250 users spread across 20+ sites, you will need to be adaptable, technically knowledgeable and committed to delivering an excellent service. The successful candidate will be required to assist the ICT & Procurement Manager with the contribution to various IT projects. This may include: coordinating a premises move and planning the related IT infrastructure; assessment of applications and technology; influencing and advising on the equipment or software selection process; overseeing implementation of Association's systems and key project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities



User Support



Provide 1st and 2nd line support via the internal helpdesk, resolving incidents and escalating where necessary. Maintain and develop core business systems, including housing and finance platforms. Monitor system performance, security, and compliance, reporting issues and risks proactively. Promote cross-departmental collaboration.

User Setup and Equipment



Ensure computer is set up prior to new hire start date and any related moves;

Handle the relocation of computer equipment as a result of office or personnel changes;

Request and setup new user accounts and email accounts (in collaboration with HR)

Configure and deploy new workstations, laptops and peripheral equipment;

Install, troubleshoot, repair, update and maintain workstations and laptops;

Setup and support audio/visual equipment for presentations and training on and off site;

Install and configure peripherals including scanners, external drives, monitors and other peripheral hardware;

Removal/disposal of non-functional equipment.

Software and Development



Provide software and system troubleshooting and support;

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and update operating systems and user applications;

Proactively schedule software upgrades and patching;

Have experience at some level of C# or VB.NET;

Have experience at some level of Website Development.

Be familiar with REST API methods

Have an ability to develop automation of tasks

Technical Support & Troubleshooting



Provide first-line support for hardware, software, and network issues.

Diagnose and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.

Administer a Help Desk system, adding chronology updates and updating end users.

Systems Planning



Participate in research and recommendation of improved infrastructure processes and technologies to include growth planning;

Provide procurement assistance including, but not limited to, researching solutions, engaging with potential vendors, making recommendations for product purchases and evaluating proposals;

Test new equipment and applications and provide thorough feedback;

Work directly with vendors to schedule repairs and maintenance;

Work with ISP and other outside vendors to ensure dependable operations;

System & Network Administration



Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and networking equipment.

Monitor system performance, uptime, and security.

Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.

Maintain accurate records of assets, licenses, and support documentation.

Data Security & Backup



Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures, including antivirus, firewalls, and encryption.

Conduct regular data backups and recovery testing.

Ensure compliance with IT security policies and data protection regulations.

Utilise the Managed Detection & Response system and personal knowledge to suggest and implement Cyber Security mitigations

IT Infrastructure and Asset Management



Maintain an updated inventory of IT assets, licenses, and warranties.

Coordinate upgrades, repairs, and replacements of IT equipment.

Support procurement of IT tools and services.

Assist in the development and administration of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Power Platform tools.

Project Support



Assist in the rollout of new systems, applications, and technologies.

Contribute to IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and integrations.

Document IT procedures, policies, and system configurations.

Training



Educate new and current employees on computer software and ICT systems;

Assess user capacity and suggest trainings and areas in need of improvement;

Routine Administrative tasks;

Maintaining documentation of processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides;

Contribute to Knowledge Base articles that are utilizes by AI agents and end users

General
