About High Grange School



High Grange School is an independent specialist school for children and young people aged 5-19 with Autism. Our aim is to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where every pupil and student can achieve their potential. Technology plays an important part in enabling both staff, pupils and students, and we are looking for an IT Technician to help keep our systems running smoothly.

About the Role



As an IT Technician, you will provide first-line IT support to staff, pupils and students across the school. This includes handling support tickets, setting up equipment, and helping resolve day-to-day technical issues. You will also assist with maintaining IT systems, user accounts, and hardware records, ensuring that everything is reliable, secure, and fit for purpose.

Key responsibilities include:

Provide on-site classroom IT support for staff, pupils and students. Set up and maintain school devices such as tablets, laptops, Chromebooks and desktop PC's for teaching and learning. Support the smooth running of printing systems across the school. Carry out routine checks on IT equipment to ensure it is safe, functional, and ready for use. Assist staff with using software and online platforms used for teaching and administration. Maintain records of IT equipment held on site and report faults or repairs needed. Complete updates on all shared computers. Support the IT Manager with basic server maintenance tasks and data backups. Ensure all IT equipment is stored securely and appropriately when not in use. Provide guidance to staff on safe and responsible use of IT systems in line with school policies. Create new users for new members of staff, including assigning access for the school's SharePoint system and Google Workspace.

About You



We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in IT and the drive to learn. You don't need years of experience, but you do need to be motivated, helpful, and able to work well with others. You should also share our commitment to supporting pupils and students with Autism and be able to adapt your approach to meet a range of needs.

Essential skills:



Basic understanding of IT systems, networks, and hardware.

Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Confident communicator with a patient and supportive approach.

Desirable skills:



Previous experience in an IT support role (paid or voluntary)

Familiarity with Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory

Experience with server 2016/2022, barracuda firewall, Zyxel firewall

Chrome admin

Experience with Sage 200 accounts

Experience with Sage 50 payroll

Networking

Knowledge of iOS and Android devices

IT-related qualification or currently studying towards one

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From 13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
