office-based

role, it can't be done remotely.

About the role



As a skilled IT Technician, this is a key internal customer-facing role that provides a high level of customer service - all round IT Support to all internal staff users (approx. 150) day-to-day including staff based within our Global Offices. It includes maintenance of IT systems and ensures the smooth running of computer networks and hardware. As a first point of contact for any technical issues it plays a key role in maintaining user satisfaction and IT system performance. Proactive in the handling of help desk tickets and user requests, making sure everything is online, available, and performing at its highest ability.

The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm (flexible).

Role Requirements and Responsibilities:



Provide first-line support for hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, or in person. Respond promptly to service issues and requests; escalate unresolved issues as needed. Prioritise and work through helpdesk requests.
oTroubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults.

Proactive checking of inter-office connections, servers, backups, network switches and other online services. Monitoring security alerts, whether from antivirus clients or urgent security patched that need applied. Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues. Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners. Comfortable performing tasks that involve physical activity, such as lifting/moving hardware etc. (Sometimes heavy). Handling goods safely (Formal training will be provided in safe manual handling practices). Maintain and update IT documentation, including inventory and configuration details. Perform routine maintenance and upgrades to ensure system security and efficiency. Assist in managing backups and disaster recovery procedures. Support the roll-out of new applications and systems. Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and standards. Project work as required.

About You



Essential Skills and Experience



Experience or working in an internal helpdesk environment/very similar to this as an IT Technician or in a relevant IT support role. Strong knowledge of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products. Experience with Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and basic networking. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
oGood communication and interpersonal skills including oral and written communication.

Great customer service to internal colleagues. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Administering Active Directory including group policy. Show a willingness to learn new technologies and develop skills, filling in knowledge gaps with regards to Company systems.

Essential Technical Experience



Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications. Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure AD, and remote support tools. Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Freshdesk, or similar). Knowledge of Windows (Desktop and Server), Exchange, Office 365, HPE/Aruba, Cisco Meraki, desktop applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.) Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and associated protocols: DHCP, DNS, HTTP, multicast etc. Knowledge of Cloud infrastructure, such as Azure/AWS IAAS /PAAS
