DCM - Digital Cloud Management Ltd is looking for a
reliable, experienced, and customer-focused IT Technician Field Engineer
to join our expanding team. This is a dynamic
24/7 field-based support role
ideal for someone passionate about IT, cybersecurity, and delivering top-tier client service. You'll work across a range of environments from homes to businesses, responding to urgent issues, installations, and providing ongoing technical support.
This role starts as a
zero hours contract
, giving flexibility while building towards a
fixed-term and then a permanent position
based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide onsite and remote IT support to residential and business clients
Install, configure, and maintain hardware (PCs, laptops, printers, routers, etc.)
Deploy and support security systems including
CCTV, alarms, and access controls
Support software installation, updates, and licensing for Windows, macOS, and Linux systems
Perform network setup, cabling, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, and VoIP system deployments
Deliver cybersecurity setup including
endpoint protection, firewall configuration, and cloud backups
Configure
remote access and VPN solutions
for secure connectivity
Assist with
Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
setup and migration
Conduct IT assessments, audits, and provide consultancy for business continuity and disaster recovery
Maintain accurate service records, complete job tickets, and report on completed tasks
Provide client education and support on IT best practices

Candidate Requirements
Essential:
Minimum
2 years of hands-on IT support or field engineering experience
Strong
customer service and communication skills
High level of
reliability, flexibility, and accountability
Able to work across
day/night/weekend shifts
as part of a 24/7 rota
Willing to undergo a
full enhanced security background check (DBS)
Ability to lift and install hardware, access rooftops, wiring cabinets, etc.
Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Desirable Certifications (Any of the below):
CompTIA A+ / Network+ / Security+
Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator / Azure Fundamentals / M365 Fundamentals
GDPR, data protection, and secure disposal practices

This is a
flexible, on-demand, zero-hours contract
. Shifts may vary, including
days, nights, weekends, and public holidays
, depending on client needs and availability. Shift assignments are communicated in advance and can be accepted or declined with flexibility.
