As part of the team, you will have access to a wide and varied range of technologies across Primary, Secondary and Special Education, with support from you colleagues who promote a cohesive work culture with diverse ideas which help form strong solutions.
About the role
You will provide first line support to look after school IT equipment, install, order and maintain software and hardware and provide technical support to teachers and pupils.
You will work in a hub as part of the trust wide IT team and support the staff and pupils within our schools.
Your day-to-day work will usually involve:
resolving IT issues reported through our service desk ticketing system
assisting in the maintenance of the school's network
installing new software and upgrading existing applications
providing technical support for teachers and pupils
running diagnostics
maintaining hardware peripherals (e.g. visualisers, printers, external drives)
ensuring systems are safe and offer full child protection
training teachers and students.
You will need:
to enjoy working in a learning environment and have great patience, diplomacy and good communication skills
knowledge of operating systems, networking, hardware and software commonly used in schools
good problem-solving skills
good organisational skills
the ability to explain problems and solutions clearly to non-technical users
the ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines
a patient and methodical approach
the ability to work alone or as part of a team
an awareness of health and safety.

Travel between schools within your hub will be required and candidates will therefore require your own car. Where possible, we look to deploy technicians close to their home base to reduce the environmental and financial impact of travel for work.
