Mandarin Stone is a leading importer of natural stone and porcelain products in the UK. We are a family run business that has grown into a very successful and reputable company within the industry. Our Head Office is based in the beautiful Wye Valley in the Welsh border town of Monmouth.

We have 16 inspirational showrooms across the UK and are currently recruiting for an experienced IT Technician to join our expanding team.

Role



Trained IT Support Technician skilled with hardware and software. Analytical in investigating problems, tracing root causes and correcting routine or serious issues. Communicates easily with technical and non-technical personnel to deliver quality support.

Key responsibilities include responding to service requests, diagnosing and resolving problems, setting up new equipment, and updating documentation. Essential skills for this role include strong technical knowledge in hardware and software, operating systems, and networking, combined with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities to support end-users.

Key Responsibilities



User Support:
Responding to user inquiries and providing technical assistance via phone, email, in-person, or remote access to resolve issues with computer systems, software, and hardware.

Installation & Configuration:
Installing, configuring, and setting up new hardware, software, operating systems, and network equipment.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance
Diagnosing and resolving technical problems with computer systems, networks, printers, and other peripherals, and performing regular maintenance tasks.

System Monitoring:
Monitoring computer systems and networks for issues and ensuring they are functioning correctly.

Documentation:
Recording issues on a ticketing system, documenting solutions, and updating online knowledge bases for other technicians and users.

Hardware & Software Management:
Managing user accounts, installing software updates, and handling the setup and maintenance of various IT devices.

Essential Skills



Technical Expertise:
Proficiency with computer hardware, software, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365), networking fundamentals, and standard security practices.

Problem-Solving:
The ability to diagnose complex technical issues and find practical solutions.

Communication:
Clear and patient communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical users and provide step-by-step guidance.

Customer Service:
A user-friendly approach to support, including the ability to take feedback and ensure customer satisfaction.

Attention to Detail:
Recording details of issues, tracking tasks, and maintaining systems.

Working hours:



Working hours are 8.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am - 12.30pm on one in three Saturday's. We are closed Sundays and Bank holidays.
