We are currently seeking a dedicated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team and grow their culinary skills in the art of Traditional and Japanese cooking.
Job Summary:
As a Commis Chef, you will support our chefs in the preparation of traditional and Japanese dishes, maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and hygiene. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for Traditional and Japanese cuisine and a desire to learn and grow in a professional kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing and presenting Traditional and Japanese dishes such as sushi, tempura, ramen, donburi, and more.
Support senior chefs with service preparation
Ensure kitchen cleanliness and adhere to hygiene and food safety standards
Follow recipes and portioning guidelines accurately
Learn and apply traditional and Japanese cooking techniques
Help with stock management and rotation
Work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
Requirements:
A genuine passion for traditional and Japanese cuisine and culture
Some kitchen experience preferred (but full training will be provided)
Eagerness to learn and develop culinary skills
Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety
Strong work ethic, teamwork, and communication skills
Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
