Job Title: Java Developer Job Location: Canary Wharf (Hybrid) Contract Length: 12 Months (Initially) Industry: Tech, Finance Key Requirements: Building Microservices, Springboot/Hibernate working experience Role Overview: Our trading and shipping team is embarking on a journey to enhance and improve our overall capabilities. One action therefore is providing a product offering real time feedback, through a serverless environment.
We are therefore looking for an experienced Java developer to develop and drive this offering. What you will do:

  • Your primary responsibility will be to construct microservices that seamlessly integrate with our source system, ensuring swift and efficient data flow within the pipeline.
  • Spearhead the design and development of microservices, fortifying seamless connectivity within the reporting pipeline for robust and scalable solutions.
  • Engineer Java applications in a serverless setting, optimizing code for both containerized and native cloud services to ensure peak performance and efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to convert JSON files, utilizing SQL queries for efficient data extraction and transformation, contributing to a well-integrated system.
  • Deploy and fine-tune message queues, ensuring their optimal performance within the microservices architecture to facilitate seamless communication and data flow.

What you will have:
  • Proficient in working on Java (strong hands-on experience)
  • Experience in building microservices
  • Working experience in Springboot/Hibernate
  • Experienced in middleware(Activeamq)
  • Experience in factoring code to run in containerised environments or native cloud services;
  • Experience in building integration solutions using various integration techniques, e.g. API\xe2\x80\x99s, file based integration, web services.
Nice to have:
  • AWS Serverless Application
  • Experienced in AWS component building(Lambda, Step functions, S3, Amazon glue, SNS, SQS)
  • Data Engineering Skills
  • Experience in designing application databases.
  • Experience in designing and building data pipelines using SQL, code, ETL tools where appropriate.
