Green Spark Utility Services Ltd provide services on water sewerage and drainage infrastructure in the water industry and private sector. It has an advanced and extensive range of machinery, equipment, and experience for identifying potential issues and providing cost effective solutions from blocked drains to cleaning large diameter pipelines or industrial tanks. Multi skilling is required to utilise a range of tankers, hose systems, CCTV operations, Jetvac and tank decontamination and repair tools and methods.

The Jetvac Driver/Operator will be driving and operating specialised vehicles that are used for the cleaning and maintenance of sewers, drains and other related systems including industrial tanks. Work Projects, will include any drainage related issues, including sludge and foul waste tankering, cesspool and septic tank emptying, servicing interceptors and pump stations, blockage clearance, pipe cleansing programmes, CCTV drainage work and flood defence and emergency reactive works. Although you start at the depot, you will be mobile attending to all work activities, within various work sectors.

The work is almost all outdoors, and you will need to be physically able and adept in manual handling, heavy lifting, safely use harnesses, work at heights and in confined spaces. You'll work to ensure vehicles are always ready to go and kept in good working order. You'll be representing the Company on each and every site and offering a polite, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers. Strong customer facing skills are required along with good communication skills.

Primarily based out of our Team Valley depot, servicing contracts within the Northeast, there are occasional times when working and staying away from home is required as well as occasional planned weekend or night work. You'll be part of a standby rota for out of hours calls to ensure the business can fully meet its service Level agreements with its clients.

Key Responsibilities

Driving : Minimum Class 2 licence, CPC and experience operating large vehicles. You should be comfortable driving in various weather and road conditions. Experience of working on Tier 1 COMAH sites Experience in industrial tank cleaning Experience in large scale jet vac operations with tier 1 contractors to Water authorities Confident driving tankers on various surfaces in various weather conditions Good understanding of technical equipment used in tank cleaning and jet vac service work Safety is a top priority when working in this field. You will need to follow strict safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. You should also be aware of potential hazards and take precautions to avoid them. This job can be physically demanding, requiring you to lift heavy hoses and other equipment, climb ladders, and work in tight confined spaces. Able to confidently use an electronic tablet and job management apps You will need to communicate effectively with your team and other workers on the job site. This includes listening to instructions, asking questions, and providing feedback. You will need to manage your time effectively to ensure that you complete jobs within the required time frame. You should be able to think creatively and come up with solutions to unexpected problems that may arise on the job. You should be meticulous in your work, paying close attention to details to ensure that everything is done correctly including completion of any documentation You may need to interact with customers and the general public, so you should be friendly and professional. You will need to be aware of environmental regulations and take steps to minimize the impact of your work on the environment. Punctuality, presentable appearance, well mannered, polite, and courteous to a client's representatives and other Group employees at all times Complete all required checks for vehicles daily / timely defect reporting / WTD / Driver's hours / Tachos where required and maintain your vehicle.
