Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and organised job controller to join our growing team. In this role, you will serve as the vital link between customers and engineers, ensuring that all jobs assigned to your designated team of engineers are completed efficiently, on time, and to a high standard.
You will report to the Branch Manager and will be expected to take full ownership of all jobs within your remit--from scheduling through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Job Scheduling
Plan and coordinate daily work schedules for assigned engineering teams (vans).
Monitor job progress and adjust schedules to meet customer needs and deadlines.
Ensure engineers are fully briefed with accurate and up-to-date job information.
2. Material Procurement
Source and order all necessary materials and parts from approved suppliers.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and competitive pricing.
Monitor stock levels and track material usage per job.
3. Job Estimating
Prepare accurate quotations based on site assessments and customer requirements.
Work closely with engineers and management to finalise scope and pricing.
Support clients in understanding their quotes and project requirements.
4. General Duties
Maintain accurate records in the job management system.
Communicate effectively with customers, engineers, and internal departments.
Handle incoming calls, messages, and customer queries professionally.
Resolve customer issues efficiently and cost-effectively.
Provide holiday and sickness cover for other Job Controllers as required.
Contribute to ongoing improvements in processes and service delivery.
Undertake additional duties as directed by management.
What We're Looking For
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Strong communication and customer service abilities
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and job management systems (training provided)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience in scheduling, procurement, or technical estimating is desirable but not essential
