We are seeking an experienced and proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical engineering bias to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the continued efficient operation of our production equipment and facilities through preventive maintenance, fault finding, and timely repair of electrical and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery and site facilities
Diagnose and repair electrical faults including motors, sensors, relays, control panels, and PLCs
Support mechanical maintenance activities (e.g., bearings, conveyors, pneumatics)
Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health, safety, and quality standards
Maintain detailed maintenance logs and complete job reports using a CMMS
Participate in root cause analysis and drive long-term engineering solutions
Contribute to installation and commissioning of new equipment or upgrades
Take part in an on-call rota or shift-based work pattern as required
What We're Looking For
Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
Strong experience working in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment
Proven ability to fault-find and repair control systems and electrical infrastructure
Working knowledge of PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley) - basic fault-finding or programming advantageous
Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Good communication skills and a collaborative team player
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) - preferred or willing to obtain
Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
IOSH or other relevant health & safety training (Desirable)
IPAF License 3a (Desirable)
Experience leading small engineering projects or CI initiatives (Desirable)
