Overview
Snuggle Ltd, a leader in sustainable garment decoration and on-demand printing, is seeking a highly skilled Print Room Operator to manage the daily operations of our Direct to Film (DTF) production facility. This role is central to ensuring the efficiency, quality, and consistency of our print output using a suite of Roland TY-300 wide-format DTF printers.
Key Responsibilities
1. DTF Print Operations
Operate, monitor, and maintain Roland TY-300 printers for optimal performance.
Prepare artwork files and RIP software for production, ensuring colour accuracy and print layout.
Load and align media and DTF films, monitor ink levels, and perform calibration as needed.
Oversee adhesive application, curing process, and film cutting where required.
2. Quality Control
Conduct regular checks for print quality, colour consistency, and film durability.
Troubleshoot print defects such as banding, misalignment, or ink drop-out.
Maintain detailed records of daily output and any incidents or interventions.
3. Equipment Maintenance
Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on all DTF equipment.
Schedule deeper maintenance tasks and liaise with Roland support when necessary.
Ensure a clean, organised, and compliant working environment within the print room.
4. Workflow & Efficiency
Manage print queues and prioritise jobs according to production schedules.
Coordinate with pre-press and finishing teams to ensure seamless production flow.
Optimise printer usage to minimise downtime and waste.
5. Health & Safety
Adhere to all safety protocols for handling inks, films, and machinery.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Maintain clear walkways and correct storage of all materials.
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with DTF printing and wide-format printers..
Strong understanding of colour management, RIP software and digital print file preparation.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and maintain digital print machinery.
High attention to detail and quality control.
Ability to work independently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification or training in wide-format printing or digital production (desirable).
Knowledge of garment decoration processes and heat transfer application.
