Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Joiner to join our team, responsible for constructing, assembling, and installing wooden structures and fixtures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all work meets high standards of quality and safety. This role requires proficiency with both hand and power tools, as well as the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Duties

Assemble various wooden structures, including frames, doors, windows, and furniture. Perform painting and finishing tasks to enhance the appearance of completed projects. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out joinery tasks. Fabricate components according to precise measurements and specifications. Ensure all installations are plumb and level, adhering to building codes and regulations. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including electricians and masons, to complete projects efficiently. Conduct repairs and maintenance on existing structures as required. Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.

Qualifications

Proven qualification as a Joiner or Carpenter with a strong portfolio of completed work. Proficiency in using hand tools (e.g., chisels, saws) and power tools (e.g., drills, sanders). Knowledge of roofing techniques and materials is advantageous. Familiarity with electrical installations related to joinery projects is a plus. Strong understanding of masonry work may be beneficial for certain projects. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Good physical fitness and stamina for manual labour tasks.
