We are hiring a Joiner (multi trade operative) to join our team in Brighton working Monday to Friday (including bank Holidays).

You will be directly contributing to maintaining a homely and welcoming environment within our services and will be expected to perform a wide variety of repair and maintenance tasks and will be required to carry out both reactive and planned work.

You will complete all aspects of joinery and property maintenance (including plumbing, PAT testing, painting and gardening) to a high standard in line with the local authority contract, current legislation and relevant Health and Safety regulations.

Our ideal candidate will have a joinery qualification (NVQ level 3 or equivalent) and experience in plumbing, electrical and / or general building maintenance. You should have experience within a maintenance function in a medium to large project / hotel or similar environment.

You should also have

Good interpersonal skills.

Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety compliance and legislation

Excellent knowledge of construction and maintenance

Keen problem-solving abilities.

Good attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to multitask and focus on multiple responsibilities

Ability to use your own initiative to set your own deadlines and prioritise a heavy and reactive workload

A well organised and structured in approach with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines.

You should have a compassionate and non-judgemental approach with the ability to show empathy towards service users and communicate at all levels, including with colleagues across the business.

You must be able to drive our company van and materials between sites and be willing to undergo a company paid basic DBS check.
