Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Joiner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and joinery, with experience in various construction tasks. This role involves working with wood and other materials to fabricate, assemble, and install structures and fixtures. The Joiner will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

Fabricate and assemble wooden structures, including doors, windows, and furniture. Perform joinery tasks with precision, ensuring accurate measurements and cuts. Work collaboratively with other tradespeople, including carpenters and masons, to complete projects efficiently. Use power tools safely and effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing materials. Conduct repairs and maintenance on existing structures as required. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist in heavy lifting and moving of materials as necessary on-site. Carry out painting tasks to finish surfaces as per project specifications.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Joiner or Carpenter with a strong understanding of joinery techniques. Familiarity with masonry work is advantageous. Ability to plumb structures accurately for proper alignment. Proficient in the use of power tools and hand tools relevant to the trade. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills. Capability to perform heavy lifting as part of the job requirements. Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment. A valid qualification or certification in carpentry or joinery is preferred but not essential.
