We are seeking a skilled and professional Joiner to join our FM team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various wooden and composite structures on-site and in schools, courts, universities, police stations and fire stations. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects. The ideal applicant should have a strong background in joinery, carpentry, and construction-related skills, with the ability to work safely and efficiently within a team.
Duties
Fabricate bespoke wooden components using hand tools and power tools according to technical drawings and specifications
Assemble structures such as frameworks, furniture, or fixtures with precision and attention to detail
Install joinery elements on-site, including doors, windows, and cabinetry
Perform roofing tasks including fitting battens and fixing roof coverings where applicable
Conduct heavy lifting of materials safely to facilitate construction activities
Carry out construction painting and finishing work to ensure a professional appearance of completed projects
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Collaborate with other trades such as electricians or plumbers to ensure seamless project progression
Skills
Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and carpentry with a strong understanding of joinery techniques
Proficiency in using hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, sanders) safely and effectively
Knowledge of roofing practices, masonry work, plumbing systems, electrical installations, and construction painting is desirable
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining good physical condition
Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail and quality workmanship
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow technical drawings accurately
Prior experience working within construction or renovation environments is preferred but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
