We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out
high-quality joinery, carpentry, repairs and installation tasks across commercial properties nationwide, while also assisting in workshop-based manufacturing,
including bespoke furniture, garden structures and small timber builds.
This role ensures Westmann delivers high standards across refurbishments, maintenance, fire safety works and bespoke joinery projects.
Typical On-Site Tasks
Fire Door Installation & Repairs
Install and maintain FD30/FD60 doors, ironmongery, intumescent seals and signage to industry standards.
Kitchen Installations
Fit base units, worktops, appliances, end panels, trims and plumbing connections (if competent).
Bathroom and Washroom Refurbishment
Boxing, panelling, IPS systems, framing and finishing.
Skirting & Architrave Installation
High-quality finishing around floors, openings and partition walls.
Window Installation, Repairs & Maintenance
Timber repairs, re-hanging, adjusting, sealing and minor glazing work.
Planters, pergolas, fencing, gates, bin stores, raised beds, and outdoor seating.
Timber Framing & Assembly
Preparing components for site installation.
Cutting, Routing & Finishing
Using saws, routers, sanders and other woodworking equipment.
Small-Batch Production
Producing consistent, repeatable joinery items for commercial clients.
Experience
Strong background in commercial joinery and carpentry
Competent with a range of fixing methods and materials
Ability to install fire doors in line with manufacturer and industry standards
High level of finishing ability (mitre cuts, scribing, precision fitting)
Proficient in reading drawings, plans and specifications
Strong workshop skills: cutting, assembly, bench joinery and finishing
Able to work independently or lead small teams where needed
Good understanding of commercial building environments and client expectations
Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability
Excellent organisation and site preparation skills
Confident operating woodworking machinery and power tools
Experience with signage installation and working at height
Good communication and client-facing conduct
Certifications & Requirements
CSCS Gold Card
(Carpentry/Joinery)
NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry/Joinery
FIRAS / Fire Door Training
(advantageous)*
SSSTS
(preferred)*
Full UK Driving Licence
Own hand tools (specialist kit desirable)
Willingness to travel nationwide (paid travel)
