We are looking for an experienced joinery professional with a minimum of 10 years of proven expertise in the field. The ideal candidate may already be in a supervisory role or be a lead joiner eager to take the next step in their career. The Role
As a working Joinery Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our joinery shop, reporting directly to the Managing Director. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Championing a "can do" and "get it done" attitude.
Ensuring strict adherence to Off the Grain's health and safety procedures.
Supervising bench joiners and other workshop staff
Monitoring project progress to ensure timely completion.
Documenting and addressing any disciplinary issues.
Providing guidance on interpreting drawings and resolving technical challenges.
Mentoring apprentices and junior staff members.
Collaborating with management and other staff to schedule and coordinate work activities.
Conducting quality assurance checks on materials and workmanship.
Ensuring the completeness of joinery items before handing them over for finishing.
Maintaining high standards in personal workmanship.
Identifying and promptly reporting any delays or issues to management.
Proactively seeking and offering solutions to problems.
Conducting toolbox talks and maintaining attendance records.
Reporting any equipment or machinery malfunctions to management.
Liaising with operations manager to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time.
