Enhance public trust and confidence in the governance of the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner and Leicestershire Police




As

Joint Audit, Risk and Assurance Panel Chairperson

you will take responsibility for providing leadership to the Joint Audit, Risk and Assurance Panel (JARAP) to effectively discharge the JARAP Terms of Reference and assist in establishing procedures to govern the Committee's work.


You will create and manage effective working relationships with Panel members, the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), the Chief Constable, Section 151 officers, nominated representatives from the OPCC and OCC (Office of the Chief Constable) and auditors.

5-10 days per annum, including meetings, reading papers and training for up to 4 years



5,625 per annum, plus travel expenses



What you'll be doing



Acting as the JARAP's spokesperson Meeting with auditors to discuss issues raised that stem from their audit activity Meet with the Chief Finance Officer of both the PCC and Chief Constable to discuss risk and control related issues that the JARAP will need to consider

What we need from you



A member of the public who has knowledge or interest in local community issues and previous experience in a local or community leadership role, but who has no political role Experience of having an impact at local level and is able to bring people together and work as a team player Experience of leading meetings as well as encouraging the participation of others Excellent communication skills and confidence in speaking up Ability to actively participate in meetings and to examine evidence and complex documentation Able to take an independent, unbiased view and maintain the highest level of integrity, accountability, and honesty in the actions you take Be over the age of 18, live or work in the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland area and be able to attend meetings at Leicestershire Police Headquarters during the working day
