Our centre offers a wide range of services, including free counselling, signposting, various workshops, and crisis support. The community kitchen and cafe are central to our mission, serving as an affordable, friendly, and welcoming meeting place, vital for fostering the overall well-being and social connection of our visitors.
The Role and Responsibilities
As the Joint Kitchen Lead you will work collaboratively to manage all aspects of the kitchen, including:
Operational Management:
Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including meal preparation, service, and efficient workflow.
Visitor Well-being:
Being
very
much involved in the well-being of our visitors, ensuring the kitchen environment is welcoming, safe, and supportive.
Team Support:
Working alongside staff and volunteers, ensuring a positive and productive environment.
Health & Safety:
Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness
Stock Control:
Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling costs to minimise waste.

Essential Requirements:
Communication & Care:
A confident, caring, and compassionate communicator with the ability to engage positively with a diverse range of visitors and volunteers, and who is very much involved in the well-being of our visitors.
Community Experience:
Proven
experience working within the community or charitable sector
, demonstrating a practical understanding of community needs and dynamics.
Proven Kitchen Experience:
Significant experience in a busy catering or kitchen management role.
Professional Qualifications:
Relevant food hygiene and safety certificates
Organisational Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and work autonomously.
