We are looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join our professional team at Benugo Bar & Kitchen, within the Warwick Arts Centre. The base salary is \xc2\xa312.5 per hour, with additional service charge of approximately \xc2\xa31.5K per annum.

Benugo Bar & Kitchen is a new 120 cover restaurant offering seasonal, fresh food from 12:00 until 20:30PM, Monday to Sunday. The restaurant opened in 2022 with all new equipment. It has double height windows, and an open kitchen creating a wonderful place to work.

Warwick Arts Centre is one of the largest multi-disciplinary art centres outside of London in the UK. This means no day is the same as we serve a range of customers coming to see theatre, cinema, comedy and music within the complex. There is also a great opportunity, if you wish, to support the Head Chef in menu development and learn from working with an experienced team.

About the Jr Sous Chef role:

  • Reporting directly with the Head Chef and deputising in their absence
  • Working with the Head Chef and Group Executive Chef to develop new menu ideas and ways to improve our offerings
  • Ensuring the food quality is at its highest standard at all times
  • Ensure the performance of the chef brigade is working to the highest standard by motivating and leading by example
  • Overseeing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control in conjunction with the Head Chef
  • Ensure all food safety and health and safety procedures are maintained to the highest standard
  • 30 hour per week minimum contract, 5 days in 7
  • Required to work weekends and evenings
  • No split shift
Qualifications

The ideal candidate:
  • Experience within a high volume kitchens
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Strong commercial awareness - i.e understanding or profit margins, purchasing, budgets, labour, food costs
