We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with experience in fine dining and catering. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety while providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Duties
Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient operation and adherence to food safety protocols.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, tracking stock levels, and minimizing waste.
Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative culinary techniques.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Oversee food handling procedures to guarantee quality and safety in all food service operations.
Participate in catering events as needed, demonstrating versatility in various culinary settings.
Foster a positive team atmosphere through effective communication and leadership skills.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the food industry, preferably in fine dining or catering environments.
Strong culinary skills with expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu planning.
Experience in supervising staff and managing kitchen operations effectively.
Knowledge of inventory management practices and food service management principles.
Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team management and development.
Familiarity with dietary department practices is a plus.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices for handling food products.
