We are looking for a professional Jr Sous Chef to follow our Head Chef's specifications and guidelines. Must have experience running a kitchen. The successful candidate will employ their culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers' satisfaction.

We are a friendly and hardworking team of 7 Chefs/KP's and 20 FOH staff who all share a passion for innovative food delivered with outstanding service.

Responsibilities



Help in the preparation and design of all food menus Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards Fill in for the Head Chef / Sous Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff's performance, lead by example and maintain the morale of the team in a busy kitchen. Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with co workers and customers

Hours



We are recruiting for a Jr Sous Chef who will be required to work as required for an average of 46 hours per week over 4 (occasionally 5 days). We do take great pride in the fact that we will offer to give you the very best work life balance possible with hours that suit your home life as well as our business requirements. Typically this will see you having 2 grouped days off together following a consistent shift pattern, and a subsequent day off during the week, while maintaining contracted hours.

Requirements and skills



2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef / Senior Chef de Partie. Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures Excellent record of kitchen and staff management Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions Familiar with industry's best practices Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) Up to date basic food & hygiene qualification, level 2. Don't worry if you don't as you can do this with us.

The ideal candidate is a dedicated and committed chef with progressive kitchen experience who is keen to roll up their sleeves and be a part of a team that wants to achieve more. You will want to continue learning and be prepared to share your knowledge with all.
