Responsibilities
Answer all telephone calls and reception enquiries in a timely, courteous and efficient manner and accurately log information on all calls received.
Arrange meetings, make and record accurately client appointments, provide and arrange hospitality.
Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing between clients/visitors/enquirers and staff and interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions
Support bookkeeping, payroll, accounts and taxation work, covering: Double entry bookkeeping; Payroll administration; Processing sales invoices and recording receipts and payments; Assisting with submissions and communications with HMRC and Companies House
Manage, organise and update relevant data using database applications, ensuring flawless execution of client on-boarding and disengagements, and client communications and information request processes
Manage and "own" operational processes that may include Client Records Management, Lead Management, Company Secretarial, Centralised Mailing and Management Reporting.
Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures.
Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of office equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility.
Plus other duties consistent with the grade as directed.
Ideal Candidate
1-2 years of prior experience working in an accountancy practice in similar role
Demonstrated personal drive, desire, aptitude and ability to assume additional responsibilities
Ability to manage and work to own deadlines with good time management, organisation and multi-tasking prioritisation skills
Solid Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel skills
Ability to develop a sound working knowledge of Bookkeeping Applications, e.g. TaxCalc, QuickBooks, Xero, DEXT, with an enthusiasm for new technologies
Studying towards AAT qualification
