We have a new opportunity for a motivated and detail-driven

Junior Analyst

to join our team. The Junior Analyst will support the delivery of AMP's commercial objectives across all operating assets, specifically including AMP's portfolio of electricity generation and storage assets as well as AMP's portfolio of heat decarbonisation assets. You will play a central role within the asset management function, delivering optimal data integrity, process efficiency and financial performance.

The role will involve:

Developing a clear understanding of the commercial and operational structure, capabilities and opportunities across AMP's 300MW of operating assets

Overseeing and optimising commercial aspects of the portfolio primarily through providing data analysis, liaising with key stakeholders (trading functions, operations & maintenance) to optimise value capture

Assisting the Asset Management function with internal reporting to management & external reporting to investors

Carrying out regular reconciliation and audit exercises across billing functions ensuring accuracy and optimal data integrity

Proactively identifying and resolving ad-hoc data reporting issues

Providing general support to the wider Asset Management function in the delivery of its commercial and operational objectives

Working closely with operational teams to identify and implement cost savings

Collating, analysing and presenting operational data sets to management in order to optimise the alignment between operational and commercial efficiency

What we are looking for:

This position is well-suited to someone who enjoys working across a variety of business areas, can manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, has a strong interest in energy projects and brings the following knowledge, skills and experience -

Exceptional data analysis skills

Minimum 1 years' experience within a similar role (Finance, Business Analysis etc.)

A clear understanding of the GB Wholesale Electricity Market structure

A high-level functional understanding of BESS / Gas Recip assets

Familiarity with data visualization tools (specifically Power BI)

Experience in managing suppliers

Strong financial reporting skills

Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines

Will be able to accurately handle high volumes of data

Familiarity with accounting principles and systems such as Sage / SAP

Ability to interpret complex data, deriving actionable insights

Demonstratable experience of producing reports

Analytical mindset and commercially astute

Competitive salary to be discussed at interview

Hours of work: 40 per week, 9am-6pm

Contract type: Permanent
