About the company
An innovation-driven engineering company designing and building automation, robotics, and food-processing machinery.
Holder of multiple patents and working closely with a robotics partner to develop advanced automated systems for the food industry.

You'll work directly with the owner/lead engineer on prototype builds, automation assembly, and system development -- learning real, modern robotics and automation from the ground up.

The role



Build and wire automated machinery and robotic systems in the workshop Install & commission new machines on customer sites (approx. 5% of the time) Field service & installation work on food production equipment (approx. 10% of the time) Testing, calibration and fault-finding on sensors, actuators and pneumatics Assist with control panels, wiring and robot setup Occasional fabrication and fitting of stainless components (guards, brackets, mounts) Work on prototype machines and patented automation systems
(~85% of the role is workshop-based automation, wiring, testing and build work)

Requirements



Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude - a practical problem solver Basic understanding of motors, sensors, pneumatics and wiring Competent with hand tools and safe working practices Full UK/IE driving licence with minimum 2 years' experience (insurance requirement) Right to work in the UK or Ireland Willingness to travel occasionally
Formal qualifications are not essential - engineering or automation studies are welcome.
What matters most is competence, curiosity and a genuine interest in automation and robotics - full training provided.

Desirable (not essential)



PLC, robotics or automation exposure Control panel wiring or machine assembly experience Maintenance / servicing background Food or industrial environment experience TIG welding or fabrication basics Working knowledge of SolidWorks (or similar CAD software)
