The company's technology combines the 3-dimensional surface detection capability of atomic force microscopy (AFM), with high-speed laser activation and the accuracy of interferometry. The Rapid Probe Microscope (RPM(TM)) is protected by an extensive patent portfolio. The company's RPM(TM) technology is being used by leading semiconductor equipment companies globally. Semiconductor devices provide the foundations on which progress in the technology sector are enabled. From Smartphones to Artificial Intelligence, 5G communications to autonomous vehicles, all are made possible through advances in semiconductor processes. Scaling these processes requires sub-nanometer measurement of increasingly complex 3D structures to enable more powerful devices.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated

Junior Buyer

to join our procurement team at a leading engineering company. In this role, you will support the sourcing and purchasing of technical components, raw materials, and engineering services required for project execution and production. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with an interest in engineering and supply chain to develop their career in a technical and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the procurement of materials, components, and services required for engineering projects and production. Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery to meet project deadlines. Liaise with engineering, production, and project teams to understand material requirements and specifications. Work closely with approved suppliers to obtain quotes, lead times, and technical documentation. Maintain accurate procurement records including pricing, supplier information, delivery dates, and compliance data. Track and expedite orders, resolving issues such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns. Support the negotiation of pricing and terms with suppliers under the guidance of the Procurement Manager. Contribute to cost reduction and supply chain improvement initiatives. Help identify and qualify new suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality and technical standards. Ensure adherence to internal procurement policies, procedures, and engineering specifications.

Requirements:

Educational level or relevant experience - A levels (or equivalent) or HND in a relevant subject, e.g. Business Manangement, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or Purchasing. We're looking for someone with foundational knowledge in supply chain, procurement, or a technical field--whether gained through study, internships, or hands-on exposure. Formal experience isn't essential; curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn are. Basic understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and technical terminology (preferred but no essential). Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with internal teams and suppliers. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is essential. Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Desirable:

Experience working in an engineering, construction, or technical manufacturing environment. Awareness of industry standards, compliance, and procurement best practices. Interest in developing a career within engineering supply chain or technical procurement.

Benefits:

26-32,000 (depending on experience)
