Company Overview



The Procurement Junior Buyer (HVAC) will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing HVAC equipment, components, and materials required for projects, production, and service operations. The role ensures the organisation secures high-quality products and services at competitive prices while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities



1. Sourcing & Purchasing



Source and procure HVAC-related materials such as compressors, air handling units, ductwork, refrigerants, controls, and installation accessories. Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations to ensure best value in terms of price, quality, and delivery. Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely fulfilment to meet project or production schedules. Support local and international sourcing for specialized HVAC components.

2. Supplier & Vendor Management



Develop and maintain strong relationships with HVAC equipment manufacturers, distributors, and subcontractors. Evaluate supplier performance using key metrics (price, delivery, quality, service). Identify and qualify new vendors to expand the supplier base and mitigate supply risks. Resolve supplier issues related to delivery delays, warranty claims, or product discrepancies.

3. Negotiation & Contract Administration



Learn how to negotiate commercial terms, service agreements, and framework contracts with key HVAC suppliers. Ensure compliance with procurement policies and project specifications. Review and manage supplier relationships to optimise cost efficiency and minimise risk.

4. Inventory & Logistics Coordination



Collaborate with warehouse and project management teams to monitor stock levels and material requirements. Manage just-in-time deliveries to reduce excess inventory and storage costs. Coordinate inbound logistics, including shipment tracking and customs clearance (if applicable).

5. Cost Control & Continuous Improvement



Identify cost-saving opportunities through alternative sourcing and volume leverage. Participate in value engineering initiatives with the technical and project teams. Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems.

Qualifications & Experience



Education:

Education to a good level.

Experience:

Good Administrative skills and some knowledge of purchasing would be Advantageous.

Certifications & Experience:

Expectation to work towards ongoing development and potentially CIPS certification.

Skills & Competencies



Some knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and supplier landscape would be an advantage but not essential. Basic negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Good computer skills. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. Analytical mindset with attention to cost, quality, and delivery performance.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)



Achieved cost savings and supplier performance improvements. On-time delivery rate for critical HVAC materials and components. Compliance with procurement and project requirements. Reduction in procurement lead times and stock discrepancies. Internal stakeholder satisfaction (projects, service, and operations teams).
Working hours will be flexible working a 36.5 hour week.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 23,175.00 per year
