Here at CapEx we're not here to do boring tax stuff the boring way. Capital allowances is a specialist niche that actually saves businesses serious money. We help accountants, property owners and firms unlock tax savings they didn't even realise were there. That's real impact. That's real value. And we want someone who's excited to learn how it all works.

This isn't a filing-drawer job. You'll be out on site visits, digging into property data, working with construction info, and building real claims that help real clients keep more of what they earn.

Who you are

You've got a finance-related background, whether that's a degree, a graduate qualification, or a few months in accounts, tax, surveying or property work. You're not scared of numbers. You're curious. You're keen to learn. And you're ready to build something rather than just copy/paste stuff into a spreadsheet.

Surveying experience is great, nice to have, but not essential. What matters more is your attitude and ability to think, ask questions, and start building real technical skills from day one.

And if you're a bit of a numbers nerd, don't worry, we don't judge around here. In fact, we're very much here for it.

What you'll be doing

You'll be part of the core analysis team, and you'll:

Join senior analysts and surveyors on site visits to inspect commercial properties Review drawings, invoices, construction costs and asset lists Work out what plant & machinery qualifies for capital allowances Help produce professional technical reports and client docs Learn legislation and HMRC practice inside-out (yes, it's interesting once you know what you're looking at) Build your skills day-by-day with structured training and mentoring

What we want from you

Must-have:

Degree or equivalent in finance, accounting, economics, property, surveying, or closely related area Solid numeracy and analytical thinking Strong written communication, you'll be writing reports, not just numbers Comfortable with Excel and data review Full UK driving licence (for site visits)

Nice to have:

Surveying background or interest Studying towards or holding finance/property qualification (ACCA, ATT, RICS, etc.) Any work experience in tax, accounts, consulting or property analysis Being a multiple Monopoly winner unfortunately does not count as financial modelling experience (we checked)
