The neonatal department are looking for a Junior Clinical Fellows to join the department on a fixed term basis to cover period of maternity leave.
The neonatal unit at Singleton Hospital is a busy level 3 unit. with 14 critical care and 10 special care cots although the unit frequently provides more care than this due to the flexible use of nursing staff. There are 11 neonatal consultants in post. In addition to deanery trainees, middle grade cover is provided by highly trained ANNPs, resident consultants, MTI trainees and senior clinical fellows. The unit was recently fully refurbished to very high standards. Critical care cot provision is expected to increase following service reconfiguration within the Health Board. We have recently opened a state of the art new transitional care facility and special care area adjacent to the refurbished postnatal ward. The unit is the lead level 3 (tertiary) unit for South West Wales and functions as part of the Wales Maternity and Neonatal Network.
