Job Description

Junior Debt Paralegal

We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Debt Paralegal to join our highly regarded Debt Recovery team following an internal promotion. This role offers a route into legal work within a supportive, ethical environment, with full training in the processes and procedures involved in debt recovery. You will be part of a team recently recognised at the Yorkshire Business Awards for its outstanding work, gaining valuable experience in a legal setting while contributing to high-quality client service.

The company

Proud to be Never Ordinary, we combine high-quality work with a supportive culture that values individuality, ambition and collaboration.

The role

As a Junior Debt Paralegal, you will work on cases from the outset, including undertaking front-line debt recovery by making outbound calls to clients and customers to progress matters.

You will record detailed instructions on our case management system, prepare templated correspondence, and follow established legal processes to progress cases efficiently and accurately. Attention to detail is essential, as errors could affect legal proceedings.

You will also support the team with wider paralegal and administrative duties, including document preparation and working with Microsoft Office tools, while developing your understanding of the legal framework surrounding debt recovery.

This is an office based role, at our office in central Leeds (close to the train station and public transport routes. No on-site parking).

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone comfortable handling phone-based communication, ideally with experience in a role such as credit control, accounts, telesales, recruitment, estate agency, or similar, where making outbound calls was part of the job.

You will be able to follow processes precisely, have excellent attention to detail, and approach tasks with professionalism.

Previous office or administrative experience is helpful, but most important is your interest in developing a career in debt recovery, your willingness to learn, and your ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
