Junior Designer (12 Months Maternity Cover)



Here at BPP we pride ourselves on providing the best possible client and learner experience - we are looking for a talented Junior Designer to support our Lead Designer on a 12 month FTC to cover maternity leave.



Your key responsibility involves supporting the Lead Designer in delivering the design aspects of publishing materials. You will be expected to engage with Head of Programmes, Lead Project Editors, Clients and stakeholders from other parts of the business to design, produce and deliver covers, diagrams, icons, templates and other design assets for learning materials to schedule. You will also work on ad-hoc design requests such as brochures or flyers.

What you'll be doing





You key responsible will be to:

Update covers and prepare them for print Prepare covers for license requests Create jacket images for LM's website, book trade, and client requests Create and amend diagrams for print and online use, working to specific style guides Create barcodes Carry out picture research and modify images Take on ad-hoc design projects/tasks, including icons, brochures, and flyers Suggest ideas and create design concepts for new covers and publishing templates Support the Lead designer with any projects Ensure designs adhere to BPP's and clients' branding guidelines

What we're looking for




To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record in the following areas:

Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop 1 year professional design experience A strong interest in design and typography Proactive and self-motivated Good time management skills and ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines Ability to self-manage when working in a demanding environment during peak publishing cycles Concentration, accuracy and an eye for detail Excellent personal and communication skills Good Outlook and PDF skills

How will this process work?




The interview process for this position will consist of the following stages:

Competency style interview followed by taking a look at a sample of your current portfolio with the Lead Designer and current Junior Designer - 60 minutes
